Wildfires are forcing families from their homes across Canada. In British Columbia, more than 100 active wildfires are burning under a provincewide state of emergency, with thousands evacuated — including several First Nations communities in the South Okanagan — and significant losses of homes and property already reported.
In Northwestern Ontario, more than 1,600 people remain displaced, with multiple First Nations communities under evacuation.
Islamic Relief Canada's Disaster Response Team is on the ground in Thunder Bay and mobilizing in British Columbia. Working with local partners, we've focused on dignified, flexible support — gift cards that let families buy exactly what they need, immediate relief kits for those supporting affected communities, and culturally appropriate psychosocial kits, including beading, sewing, and moccasin-making materials.
As immediate needs are met in Ontario, we're shifting toward recovery there — while responding to the fast-moving emergency in B.C.
Your support makes this possible. Please donate now to stand with families facing this grief and uncertainty.
